Raising The Basement Bar

Client Project: Boring Basement Transformed!

This basement left a lot to be desired. Originally, it was a very large, open space with high ceilings, but it felt dated and served no purpose. The parents wanted the kids to play down there, but the kids were definitely not interested. With one simple wall, repuposing furniture from upstairs, paint, wallpaper and artwork, this space is barely recognizable now! What started as a long, narrow, unusable space has been transformed to cool and functional. Now this space is perfect for family movies, game night, homework, snacks, and promises to be the future site of many fun times. Once a sore spot and literally wasted space, now this basement is a destination the whole family loves!

I searched around my client's house to repurpose as much as possible. Her dad refinished the awesome round table they had in storage for years. I found the decor from various places and closets around the house, then added my trusty fake pathos from Target

We scored the chairs on Amazon, under $200 for all 4. They have a wipeable cushion, perfect for grimy hands.

The wallpaper gives a fun pop and the shelves were on sale
